Posted by CRM PPC on

Do you know that you can reuse your steeped tea bags in many ways, instead of just chucking them into the bin?

5 Tips on Repurposing Your Tea Bags

1)Remedy for dark circles & puffy eyes

The caffeine and tannins in tea can help relieve swelling and inflammation. To reduce puffiness and dark circles, apply cooled down or chilled tea bags to your eyes, leave for 10 minutes, remove and wash your face.

2)An organic mouthwash

The antibacterial properties in tea can help in keeping your mouth fresh and clean. Soak used green tea bags in water, then rinse your mouth and gargle with it. It’s a good idea to substitute alcohol-based mouthwash (that have a chance of actually worsen oral condition) with this organic mouthwash.

3) Take a relaxing bath

Add a few tea bags into the bathtub as you bath and let the natural fragrance relax your body and mind. The antioxidants in tea can also help improve skin health!

4)Get rid of unpleasant odours

Are your hands still smelling like garlic or fish after cooking? Try rubbing your hands with wet tea leaves from the used tea bags to remove unpleasant odours.

You can also place dried used tea bags in your fridge to absorb fridge odours.

5)Make your hair shine

The antioxidants in teas can improve hair and scalp health. Brew a weak tea with used tea bags and leave it to cool down. After shampooing your hair, use the weak tea as a hair rinse, then rinse again with clean water.

*Keep in mind that you should reuse your tea bags ASAP, especially if you’re going to use it on your body. If you’re not reusing right away, immerse them in a cup of water and chill it in the refrigerator. Used tea bags become a breeding ground for mold and bacteria, so don’t wait for too long to reuse them!
