心中茶 My Cup of Tea

The enjoyment of tea is not limited to mouth – our body and brain and mind can also savour the taste of a cup of tea.

Place three to five cups alongside the porcelain pot on the table. Insert tea leaves and pour in hot water, the tea's aroma would fill up the house within seconds. If we had once lived in half-wooden half-brick house in a village, that is the vividest memory we are craving and longing for.

Into the modern age, if we are meticulous we would perhaps make do with small pot and cups alongside tiny stove. We still enjoy the tea nevertheless – while we ride on the latest trend to take the best out of our tea and utensils. A thrifty and modest attitude of tea enjoyment, ours is indeed the alternative version of environmentalism.

Years-long enjoyment of tea is not as if something is lost.

As the spring rain showers, we miss the Long Jing young sprouts in Meijiawu tea village in West Lake.

As the moon shines over the night sky during Mid Autumn, what lingers in our mind is the fresh Guan Yin tea leaves in Anxi Mountain.

It's summer throughout the year here in our tropical peninsula, with autumn-like weather alternating after rain. I cannot but to rummage my cabinet for some old tea bags – of which the tea brewed is still insufficient to drive away summer heat and soothe our mind.

Fortunately, we went uphill after tedious preparation – believe it or not, our eye-witnessing was as comfortable as drinking. With the tea's aroma lingering around, still. If I can't join the overseas tea trip, my tea-lover friends would send out messages from tea farm – the sprouts are growing; it is.
