Product Introduction

LONG JING

The first picking of spring shoot makes premium Long Jing tea, which is best served before the Qing Ming Festival. The best Long Jing tea is produced in the Xi Hu (West Lake) area of Hangzhou, and the variety introduced by Purple Cane is of exceptional quality.

In the Spring of 2020, Purple Cane launched the specially-made ‘Royal Long Jing’, a competition grade premium tea exquisitely packed in a custom-made Malaysian pewter tea caddy. This is a limited edition tea commemorating Purple Cane’s 33rd anniversary.

Long Jing, the most famous green tea, is known for its beautiful green leaves, delicate aroma and mellow flavour. A variety of unfermented tea, Long Jing is made of tender buds with leaves picked in the early spring. These are manually fixed by way of pan frying to stop oxidation. The finished dry leaves, shaped like sword’s blades are flat and glossy, yielding a clear, yellow-green tea infusion that is refreshing with a slightly sweet aftertaste. Calming, soothing and relaxing, Long Jing Is also a great choice after a heavy greasy meal.

Pre-Qing Ming Tea:

Tea made with leaves harvested before the seasonal division point of Qing Ming (5th of April) every year.

Pre-Gu Yu Tea:

Tea made with leaves harvested before the seasonal division point of Gu Yu (between 5th and 20th of April) every year.

Brewing The Perfect Cup

Choice of brewing vessel:
Porcelain or glass brewing vessel.

Brewing Hints:
Add tea leaves to the brewing vessel until ¼ filled.
Pour 75°C-80°C fresh boiled water into brewing vessel, steep for approximately 30 seconds to extract the full flavor.
Serve. Re-steep the leaves in a similar manner to enjoy the tea as it develops from steep to steep; continue re-steeping until the leaves are exhausted of flavor.

Storage: keep away from sunlight, heat, moisture and odour.

Tuangkan air didh 75°C – 80°C ke dalam bekas membancuh teh.
